About Us

We are a student-run interest group from UNSW with the purpose of promoting surgical interest, connecting students to surgical opportunities and inspiring the next generation of surgeons.

Established in 2008, UNSW Surgical Society is a special interest group run by UNSW medical students. Our primary goal is to foster surgical interest and facilitate skill development through workshops, educational and networking events.

Each year we run three basic and advanced suturing workshops catered for students from Phase 1 through to 3. Alongside this we host three different subspecialty workshops where students can learn more specific skills. Our annual surgical conference is our largest event and brings into focus a different subspecialty each year.

At UNSW Surgsoc, we are committed to providing equal opportunities to all and promoting diversity, inclusion and respect amongst peers.
