COVID-19 Update: New Website

Dear students,

UNSW Surgical Society has suspended all workshops until further notice due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

As you are probably aware, this is in light of several government restrictions on gatherings and new social distancing rules. The safety of the students and community is paramount so we hope you understand the decision that has been made. As this is a rapidly evolving situation, we will be reassessing the situation continuously and will notify you of any changes as they develop.

In the meantime, we are working towards ensuring that surgical content and resources will still be available to you remotely. One of our initial steps is the creation of this website to serve as a platform to deliver online content. On this website you will find updates on our society’s activities, information on our events, resources on suturing skills & anatomy, quizzes & competitions, blog posts on interviews with surgeons and a store to buy suturing equipment. We will be regularly updating with more content as we continue to build this website, and should there be any content you wish to see, please don’t hesitate to let us know. As always, make sure you have us followed on our Facebook page to not miss out on any updates!

We understand that this is potentially a very stressful time for everyone with no aspect of our daily lives left unturned. Please continue to look out for each other whilst at home, and remember, this is a period of physical distancing not social isolation!

Yours sincerely,

Bridget Hwang
